At the end of Balak it says that after the act of Pinchas, the plague stopped - ותעצר המגיפה. That would strike one as weird b/c until now we haven't read of a plague!!!?
Then it says that 24k people died in the plague. Shouldn't we first hear the number and then hear that it ended??
