The Gemara [Brachos 12] says that Chazal wanted to decree that we say the parsha of Bilaam every day as part of Krias Shma b/c of the pasuk כרע שכב כארי וכלביא מי יקימנו [see Rashi there] but didn't b/c of טירחא דציבורא [How THOUGHTFUL!!😊]
If an individual wants to say it and doesn't feel it is a טירחא - is he permitted?
