The difference between a "conservative" and a "progressive" is that the former wants to "conserve" traditional values while the latter does not. That is why conservatives are against killing babies in utero and the progressives are in favor. Conservatives believe that marriage is between a male and female while progressives believe that if you are attracted to a person - you can have relations with him/her, regardless of your genders. The vast majority of Conservatives believe in G-d. Progressives - to a much lesser extent. The list goes on....
Torah Jews are BY DEFINITION - conservative [or better put - Orthodox Jews are really Conservative:-)]. We want to CONSERVE ancient values.
Shabbos [middle name "Kodesh"? "Menucha"? "Nachamu"? "HaGadol"? "Food"? "Nap"? None of those. המכנה שם לחבירו אין לו חלק לעוה"ב!!!] Kestenbaum has made a great Kiddush Hashem. A proud Jew with a big kippah perched on his head. The name of the decade. Eloquent and passionate. A star.
This is what he wrote:
I am a Democrat.
I support most progressive policies.
I will be voting for President Trump.
He admittedly voted for Bernie Sanders in 2016. By his own admission he wanted to stay Democrat but could not because they support Hamas. Otherwise - he is in.
It is part of the "Ben Shapiro syndrome". Someone wears a yarmulke so people think he represents Torah and Jewish values. The reality is that SOMETIMES he does. [Sometimes however, he might also publicly be מנבל פיו]. BTW - Some of Kamala's and her friend's policies also reflect Torah values [e.g. helping the poor and unfortunate]. וד"ל.
Our TRUE heroes are people like the Chofetz Chaim and frankly every Jew who is careful about every detail of Halacha and who is מקבל עול מלכות שמים. Not Harvard Divinity school students [or UCLA grads in the case of Ben S.] but Mir, Ponovitch and BMG students [or ישיבת רבינו יצחק אלחנן if you'd like]. Or ANY ehrlich, sincere Balabos.
