Breaking Bad Habits

In my community as well in many other places, the Rabbonim are PLEADING with people to take this seriously. Really. Over 75,000 corpses and well over a million diagnosed with the virus - and people are still not getting it. A wonder of wonders to supersede almost all other wonders.

I must note that it is a small minority. The vast majority are now taking this very seriously but there are still people who want to continue as always. People are planning to have their parents over for the seder. Why? Doctors say that this will endanger their lives!! AHHHHH!

So what is Netanyahu doing? He is closing down the cities to ensure that people comply with the restrictions. This isn't just religious people. There are many irreligious people and many non-Jews who always refuse to comply. Meaning, like little children who can't understand that something is dangerous so the parents must physically enforce the rules to ensure the children's safety, so adults must be PHYSICALLY RESTRAINED from hurting themselves and others.

MUSSAR HASKEL: Human beings are so set in their patterns that it is virtually impossible to get them to change. That explains addictions [millions upon millions addicted to opioids, alcohol, Internet, smoking etc. etc.] and explains a lot of other things.

So this is THE BEST TIME to ask yourself what harmful patterns dominate your life. Eating: What do you eat? Why? How much? Is it good for you?? How are your relationships? What negative patterns are you entrenched in with your spouse and children? What repetitive thoughts do you have that just bring you down? What purpose do they serve? What about the Lashon Hara you might speak or enjoy reading on the Internet. There is no question that Lashon Hara generates a tremendous amount of hits. Who is visiting these sites? Religious Jews [among others]. Bad habit. The list goes on and on.

This is the greatest time for personal growth. Let us take advantage.
