The Earth As A Hospice

The world is in many ways a hospice. People all know that they are going to die and want to make their stay here as pleasurable, comfortable and painless as possible. But, as with hospice patients, it doesn't work out that way and life is filled with pain, difficulties and disappointments [together with many, often unappreciated, blessings].

This corona thing is misunderstood. We are ALL going to die. Nothing has changed. THAT is the ULTIMATE global pandemic and finding a vaccine for corona won't change that. In the context of eternity, 40 years and 80 years are basically the same. People are freaking out while losing sight of the bigger picture.

So instead of focusing only on how to stay alive the world should be giving more thought as to why we are living.

Life is filled with pain because pain is a great catalyst for growth and the goal of life is to grow. We must strive to give Hashem back a much improved Neshama. If life is just, as it is for so many, an attempt to maximize pleasure and minimize pain, then is it really worth living at all??

There is a lot more to say but I will let everyone ponder this short message and take it to the right places אי"ה.

PS - I don't mean to minimize the tragedy of so much death. I mean to accentuate the tragedy of so many empty lives.

לא אמות - בתנאי - כי אחיה.  אחיה באמת.
