A friend of mine told me that his grandfather bought an apartment in Bnei Brak. In his will he wrote that the children should NOT sell it. It should be available for someone who wants to live there.
Within a month after his passing the apartment was sold for the princely sum of..... 37 thousand dollars [or maybe it was 27 thousand. I don't remember]. Today it is worth many times that sum.

1] Listen to your elders - especially when they give you a present and ask you to behave with it in a certain way.
2] The pasuk says [Mishlei 28-22]:
נִבֳהָל לַהוֹן אִישׁ רַע עָיִן וְלֹא יֵדַע כִּי חֶסֶר יְבֹאֶנּוּ.
A stingy man hurries after riches, and doesn't know that he will come lacking.
They were נבהל להון - hurrying after riches, and lost out big time.
Don't be נבהל להון. Patience patience. I once heard that one of the reasons Warren Buffet is so rich is that he is just patient and has his money invested in certain place for very very long periods of time and his investments grow exponentially.
