His wife says to him "Bradley, why don't you put an ad in the paper?"
Bradley thinks that this is a great idea so he proceeds to do so.
Bradley hasn't heard anything back from the ad in weeks when his wife asks him "What did you you put in the ad for our missing dog Bradley?"
Bradley replies "here boy."

When the Jews left Egypt, no dog barked. What is the meaning of this?
I am especially interested in this b/c I am from the Upper West Side - the dog capital of the world.
Dogs are considered the most chutzpah-dik of animals [see Yeshayahu 56-11]. What is the meaning of this??
People think that it is b/c dogs will incessantly bark at people. But that is not it.
The chutzpah of dogs is expressed in the fact that they are "man's best friend". There are plenty of people who welcome dogs into their beds. That a dog thinks [however much dogs actually think...] that he is equal to man is uber-chutzpah.
When the Jews left Egypt, a new type of man was created. This was a partial tikkun of חטא אדם הראשון and a restoration of what man SHOULD be. When the dogs saw that they kept their mouths shut and their barks silent. They understood that they are no longer man's equal.
