I heard a MO rabbi take a pot shot at the yeshiva world. He said that in that world, people learn about Hashem at a young age and remain with that unsophisticated childish understanding of Hashem their whole lives - which can cause problems.
This implies that there is no such problem in the MO world.
What I have found is that there are 3 types in the MO world.
There is one type who was raised to believe in Hashem but then becomes too smart and sophisticated for such a "primitive" idea [I mean, it makes a lot more sense to say that *nothing created everything* than that Someone created everything. Or does it?] and stops believing completely or at least partially. There are loads of people like this. Some leave the community and many remain [you can find them among other places on blogs and Facebook groups].
Then there are the people who retain their unsophisticated faith for their whole lives [as in the criticism of the yeshiva world].
And then there is the third group - people who grow in their Emunah throughout their lives.
It turns out, that in the yeshiva world there are also three such categories of people.
Mussar Haskel: Grow in Emunah. It enhances life and it is much of the reason we are here.
