Avraham and Sarah's Shidduch - We hear nothing about it. Just that they were married. No drama. Later, Sarah tells Avraham what to do. [Throw Yishmael out. Bad boy!].
Yitzchak and Rivka's Shidduch - Huge Parsha. Yitzchak not involved. All orchestrated by his father and his father's eved. Very dramatic. No having to work for her. She comes with the price of Kiddushin. Rivka, in contrast to her shvigger ["mother-in-law" in Slovak], doesn't tell her husband to throw out the bad kid, nor does she even mention to him how bad he is and that Yitzchak shouldn't even THINK of giving him the bracha. "Shtil-a-heit" ["quietly" in Old French] behind the scenes she makes sure that the right child is blessed.
Yaakov and Rochel and Leah's Shidduch - Also a huge dramatic Parsha but no testing the girl [like w/ Yitzchak]. He saw Rochel loved her and asked to marry her [more Chasidish besides the kissing part - see Meforshim]. Then - unlike his father and grandfather - has to work seven years. Then another seven. All of the deal done by Yaakov alone w/o his parents involvement.
Avraham and Sarah barren. Finally Sarah tells Avraham to take her Shifcha and she will be "built' through her [see the Meforshim].
Yitzchak and Rivka barren. No Shifcha - they just keep davening and the babies are born.
Why these discrepancies? הלא דבר הוא!!!!
Worth a ponder!!!😀😘
