Sushi And Brisk

I saw someone attempt to sum up American Judaism circa 2018 - People want to send their children to Brisk [the Yeshiva - not the city] and BJJ but they also want to have a Lancer in their driveway, a vacation home in the mountains and to eat sushi.

[And better Brisk and BJJ than Brandeis and Penn where other segments of the community dream of sending their kids. That being said I know some VERY FRUM people who went to Penn and Brandeis but they are so frum DESPITE the fact that they went to those places and not BECAUSE they went there].

But I do want to give a shout out to the many Tzadikim who don't even know what a Lancer is, can't afford even one home and have never tasted sushi. All they want is to serve Hashem with purity and to take from this world only what is necessary to achieve their spiritual goals. They deserve our respect and even reverence.
