All this talk of socialism in the U.S. is SCARY. The "evil empire" [as Ronald Reagan famously called it] was called the U.S.S.R. - United Soviet Socialist Republic. Tens of million tortured and killed.
Nazism was short for "Nationalism Socialism" (German: Nationalsozialismus). There is a debate among scholars if they were actually socialists but look at their NAME! The Gemara in the first perek of Brachos says "שמא גרים". A name is a "THING"!!
