Trump recently awarded the Presidential Medal of Honor to the former Celtic legend Bob "Robert Yoisef" Cousy. It was in recognition of his success on the hardwood and his activities to improve society off the court.
Cousy was raised on the East Side of Manhattan [a wonder that he didn't attend Ramaz...] and played with kids of other ethnic groups such as blacks and Jews. This made him a champion of respect and tolerance for people of different and diverse groups. When he once went to a hotel [or restaurant] that denied his black teammate lodgings, he left town and refused to stay in such a place.
In his acceptance speech he said something that really resonated with me. He said that בסך הכל [he didn't use the Hebrew expression. Oddly.] basketball is just a kids game.
So true. At age 91 he gets it. Just a kids game.
So I say, sports fans worldwide - chill out. Relax. It is just a GAME. For CHILDREN. Adults understand that there are many more important things in life.
Or do they?
