Today was Gaon Yisrael Vi-Kdosho's Yahrtzeit - Maran HaGaon HaTzadik Rebbe Yaakov Moshe Charlap זצוק"ל.
So I said over a vort of his to my 11 year old daughter Chana Leiba and asked her to repeat this to her friends in school:
תורה שבכתב is עצמיות העולמות.
תורה שבעל פה is the אור שבעולמות.
עם ישראל brings down the light.
[I repeated it to make sure that she understood. She was amused].
