Many years ago there was a serial מבזה תלמידי חכמים - disgracer of Torah scholars. He would go around telling people how hypocritical the rabbis were etc. etc. Who was righteous? HE WAS of course. Or so he claimed.
He is today known as Jesus C. [not to be confused with the Jesus who played for the Mets]. If you throw away the rabbis then you are liable to start your own religion because there is not going to be much left of tradition. The followers of Jesus have mercilessly slaughtered countless numbers of Jews in the cruelest of ways over history. At the root - ביזוי תלמידי חכמים.
So I conclude by paraphrasing the Mishna in Avos - בלוגרס - היזהרו בדבריכם.
A person who disrespects Chachomim has the status of an Apikores and forfeits their portion in the world to come. So George Bush will have a portion in the world to come [and incidentally has the same yahrtziet as Rav Shteinman - Li-havdil!!] if he counts as a חסיד אומות העולם but not one who disgraces Chachomim.
Note to clarify: Am I comparing people who speak with chutzpah about Tzadikim and Chachomim to Jesus ימ"ש? Partially, as they share the common trait of disrespect for those whom it is so critical that we respect. But of course not on all levels.
