I saw an article on a "kiruv" website [that is a mixture of positive Jewish content, silly nonsense and anti-Torah content - I have tried to comment but they delete me....]. Actor "X" [I, Baruch Hashem, didn't know who he is but apparently just about everybody else does...] doesn't touch women. The message of the article is that just as he is shomer negiya, so are many Jews.
Wow.
I was a bit skeptical. An actor, in Hollywood, Avi-Avi-Avi-Avos-Hatumah, doesn't touch women? The proof was that when photographed he doesn't touch the women in the photograph. OK.
A few seconds later with a quick search I discovered that he fathered a baby and wasn't married at the time.....
Mamesh a Tzadik. Almost like the Chofetz Chaim. Shomer Negiya and a biological father! WOW!! One for Guinness.
Anyway, my message is that anything that smacks of popular entertainment is pritzus, Tumah and should be shunned by anyone with any desire at all to have a good relationship with the G-d of Israel. There is not an actor or actress who lives a life that we should try to emulate in any way, shape or form. Nobody is all bad, but all in all - those people are not role models for anything.
We have to be mekarev people by bringing them into our world of purity and not by being part of their world. In that world EVERYBODY gets divorced, EVERYBODY has multiple sexual partners before [and most often during] marriage, most of them are addicted to various drugs or opioids or are on anti-depressants. Their family lives are shattered. Everything revolves around their egos, fame, money and material pleasures. The further away we are from that the better. Baruch Hashem there are MANY MANY amazing people who we should try to emulate that we don't have to find some odd anomaly about some actor and make a story out of it.
