The pasuk says to love Hashem with all your soul [בכל נפשך] and all your money [בכל מאדך]. This mitzva to love Hashem with all your soul means even to DIE for Hashem. When do we die for Hashem? When it comes down to the choice between idolatry or death we must choose death. ["ובחרת במוות":-)]. [See Sanhedrin 74a]
But when it comes to giving away all of our money the halacha is that one must give away all of his money in order not to transgress ANY לא תעשה.
So how can we split the pasuk into two and say that בכל נפשך is עבודה זרה and בכל מאדך is every aveira?
