HaGaon Rav Mordechai Elefant, the colorful Rosh Yeshiva and founder of the Itri Yeshiva, was once sitting and talking to the Tzadik and Baal Mofes Rav Usher Freund. There was a long line of people waiting outside to speak to Rav Usher.
Rav Elefant related that he said "I don't understand. I can learn 10,000 times better than you. Yet, I don't have all these people coming to see me".
Rav Usher smiled and said that if Rav Elefant would open his door to listen to people's tzaros all the time, he too would have many "customers".
I have a friend who started a Gemach. He was debating whether to advertise it. He decided not to. He lent one person money. Then another person heard about it and asked for a loan. Then a third ... and a fourth..... All by word of mouth.
If you want "business" - help people in some way. That is the BEST business.
