The poskim are bothered with the custom to start kiddush w/ ויהי ערב ויהי בוקר יום הששי. The Gemara says that we may not cut a pasuk in half - and those words are only half the pasuk.
Rav Soloveitchik used to say the first half of the pasuk [וירא א-להים את כל אשר עשה והנה טוב מאד] quietly.
