People are impressed when individuals have a lot of followers on social media.
This is a mistake. There is NOTHING to be impressed about. The ONLY thing you can say about someone with a lot of followers is that the person is not an internally focused person but an externally focused person. This is not positive.
A person should be focused on what is going on with his or her soul, a person should introspect, a person should do whatever they can to AVOID exposure to the public which corrupts one in many ways. So let's readjust our perspective. This world is עלמא דשקרא - a world of falsehood. Today, much of this falsehood is concentrated on social media.
Don't look out - look in.
