Tefillah #102: Getting Past Our Normal Capacities

Hashem is great and much acclaimed in the city of our God, His holy mountain.

It is only in Yerushalayim that we can properly appreciate Hashem's greatness. In עיר אלהינו we saw with our eyes what we had earlier on imagined about Hashem's greatness. It was like מתן תורה when we SAW what we normally heard - רואים את הקולות.

In davening we say What is the difference between ברוך and מבורך? Maybe ברוך refers to the fact that He is the source of blessing. מבורך refers to our perception of His being the source of bracha. Only at קריעת ים סוף was there an equation [or as close as we can come] to Hashem's being the source of bracha and our sensory appreciation of this fact.
