A tentative $83 million settlement has been reached in a punitive class action lawsuit brought by victims affected by the Surfside building that partially collapsed in South Florida last June, court filings show.
The lawsuit was filed against several groups and individuals, including companies that developed and maintained the property, the company responsible for the construction of the building, and engineers and inspectors of the building.

comfy Miami condo, the central AC is cranking thus enhancing the experience,
the GORGEOUS beach beckons on the morrow, the fridge, freezer and cabinets are
filled with goodies etc. etc. Life is GOOOOOODDDD!!! If this ain't Gan Eden in this world then what is???

BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The building collapses and 98 people wake up -
only to find themselves not right next to the beach with some fresh
orange waiting to be drunk with breakfast but in the world of truth. In
other words - dead.
Then the families sue, settle on 83 mil. - and the unfortunate people who perished b/c of whom these people became so rich, can never enjoy a penny of it.
One of the core
mistakes people make is that they assume that this world is meant to be a pleasant
excursion into a life of pleasure and fun. The reality is that nobody
lives any significant amount of time without significant difficulties.
Then one either dies young or gets old and has to experience his/her
body slowly but surely deteriorating [while watching friends and loved
ones dying] enjoying endless rounds of doctors appointments and "procedures". Replacing hips and knees, cataract surgeries, the list goes on and on.
The explanation is that we are NOT here to have a "good time" but to work. The "good time" is "there" on what they call today "the other side". Any pleasure and nachas we have here is a bonus [or not - ואכמ"ל......].
So count your brachos - and expect a rough go.
