I saw a podcast where a very well respected [and deservedly so!] Orthodox rabbi interviewed a well known personality whose stated purpose in life is to bring people to Yoshke 专讞"诇. That is his focus and central goal. And an Orthodox rabbi gave him a platform with a vast listening audience joining in from all over the world....
Shabbos 75a:
This dude is DEFINITELY a "min" who is trying to draw people to his Avoda Zara. Even if nobody converts 讞"讜 b/c of this interview, the very fact that he is made the subject of great admiration is a spiritual churban.
I would write this rabbi an email but he knows the Gemara and has been reprimanded in the past and continues on this path so it wouldn't help. Sad and unfortunate. I get "Modern Orthodoxy" as sanctifying all aspects of life. I don't get "Modern Orthodoxy" as admiring and placing 注讜讘讚讬 注讘讜讚讛 讝专讛 on a pedestal. 讘"讛 many people who identify as MO don't either.
