The Lessons Of Rob And Michelle Reiner

"Jews control Hollywood".

That is not merely an anti-semitic trope

According to a standard work by Huberman and Chandler, ""The Lower East Side...was the cradle of the movie industry...The origins of Hollywood were to be found in the new, substantially immigrant mass audience, and its founding fathers among the entrepreneurs of New York's preeminent pre-world War I Jewish neighborhood."

Many of the men who created Hollywood were Jewish. Adolph Zuckor, one of the three founders of Paramount Pictures, was a Jew from Hungary. Another Jew from Hungary, William Fox, founded Fox Film Corporation. Louis B. Mayer, born in Russia, although he was never quite sure where, co-founded Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, with another Jew, this one with parents from Austria, Marcus Loew. And Warner Bros. was founded by the brothers Warner: Harry, Albert, Sam, and Jack, three of whom were born in Krasnosielc, Poland (Jack was born in Canada). With David Sarnoff, a Russian Jew who founded RKO, these were the five major studios of Hollywood's Golden Age. In addition, two of the three minor studios of the time, Universal Pictures and Columbia Pictures, were founded and run by Jews. Carl Laemmle, one of the founders of Universal Pictures, was a German Jew from Laupheim in Germany; while Harry and Jack Cohn, along with Joe Brandt were Jews from New York City who founded Columbia. The only non-Jewish movie company was Disney.

In 1979 Time Magazine estimated that about 80 percent of all comedians in the United States were Jewish [!!!].

Sadly, there is a common denominator to just about every Jew in Hollywood - assimilation.

In the olden days when they grew up in more traditional European homes, the first wife they married while young was Jewish. But the later wives [almost always more than one - except for George Burns (Nathan Birnbaum) who was married to a Catholic רח"ל and had only one wife. Also - Carl Reiner, Rob's father, had only one Jewish wife] were almost always Gentile. In the last few decades, the Hollywood stars usually grew up in less Jewish homes and the first wife [or husband] was already not Jewish.

Another common denominator is that all of these so-called "stars" have tumultuous and quite miserable personal lives. This includes unstable family life, multiple relationships, children from numerous partners, drug and alcohol abuse, depression and the list goes on. Read the bio of any famous entertainer and you will NEVER see a normal person who got married young, had six normal kids and died a peaceful death surrounded by their one and only wife [also the only person they were ever intimate with] children, grandchildren and great grandchildren [similar to what countless normal Torah observant people have]. There is always endless drama and PROOOOBLLEMMMSSSSSS.

Yet, people DREAAAAAMMMMMM of going to Hollywood. It is all דמיונות - pure imagination. Once a person gets there he realizes how incredibly immoral, empty, vulgar, crass, that fake world [entertainment is getting paid a lot of money to fake being someone you are not] is.

The latest example everyone is talking about is the tragic murder of Rob and Michelle Reiner, allegedly by their son who had been in drug rehab about 12 times.

Two Jewish people who were at the top. Power, money, connections, fame - whatnot!! But imagine how miserable they were just dealing with that crazy son! Besides all the other problems they must have had. And then their horrific, macabre end.

Rob Reiner called himself an atheist but was "sympathetic" to ... Buddhism. He used his money and clout promoting left wing causes such as the legal rights of two men or two women pretending to be married, animal rights, democratic [often pro-arab anti Israel] politicians and the standard list that goes along with those things.

SAAAAADDDD!!!

Two Yiddishe Neshamos. Their three children - also Yiddishe Neshamos. Totally lost in the morass of bankrupt, secular, western culture.

That was their life and that was it's end.

For me - Reiner will always be Meathead from All In The Family.

I hope and believe that he and his wife will have their tikkun and like all Jews will at some future point be under the sweet wings of the שכינה. [As the sfarim hakdoshim assure us].

May their memories not necessarily be a "blessing", as they say, but a Mussar

Mussar about the difference between the world we inhabit and the outside world. שאני משכים והם משכימים etc. etc. To be proud of who we are and never envy the rich and famous. To reject the external נוי [beauty] of יון [same letters] and seek the deep, meaningful הידור and beauty of mitzvos.
