One of the 14 books of the Rambam's "י"ד החזקה [what a COINCIDENCE that the gemtria of יד is 14!! 😂😂] is ספר טהרה. It includes הלכות טומאת מת, טומאת צרעת, מטמאי משכב ומושב, שאר אבות הטומאה and טומאת אוכלין. These Halachos should be in ספר טומאה not ספר טהרה!!!
Mussar Haskel: The goal is not the Tumah. The Tumah is just a road to Taharah. Taharah is the goal.
The Rambam writes in his Peirush Hamishanyos that a Tamei person who was purified is more pure than a person who never became Tamei in the first place!!! [Rav Yosef Engel is מאריך about this nekudah]. Right after Tazria which is all about Tumah is Metzora which describes the purification process. Life will at times bring Tumah upon us - our job is כסדר to strive and do all we can to be טהור!!!
