I saw that a NYC shul is hosting a Hispanic politician to present "דברי התעוררות" for Shaleshudes.
IMHO a shul is a place to nourish the soul. The shul is selling their congregants short by offering something so clearly unspiritual and Torah-dik. If he was not Hispanic but black, brown, pure-Caucasian or even orange or purple - it wouldn't matter. It is not about race. At all. There is a vast beautiful Torah for which people's Neshamos are searching - whether they are aware of it or not.
So please shuls - give people נצחיות. Not cheap, temporal forms of entertainment.
