Former U.S. President Donald Trump’s granddaughter celebrated her bat mitzvah over the weekend, her mother announced. Arabella Rose Kushner [pronoun her/she], the eldest child of Ivanka [Yaeli] Trump and Jared Kushner, marked her bat mitzvah—the coming-of-age ceremony for Jewish girls—several weeks before her 12th birthday to fulfill the ancient Talmudic dictum "Zerizim Makdimin Bi-mitzvot".
“With an abundance of love and immense pride [but not "pride" in the sense it is used today but in the traditional sense that we are proud of her], Jared and I celebrated our daughter Arabella’s Bat Mitzvah this past weekend,” Ivanka Trump wrote on Instagram. “We reflect on the weekend with full hearts and an abundance of joy and gratitude, shevach vi-hodaya to the Boirei Oilam. From her commitment to feeding hungry families through the Jewish Community Service Kosher Food Bank to supporting children with special needs through her work volunteering with the Friendship Circle and Whispering Manes, Arabella’s giving heart and commitment to making a positive impact embodies the spirit of this special milestone. Plus she is an ACE at Navi.”
According to the Business Insider, Donald Trump organized Arabella’s bat mitzvah celebration [!!!!]. “Thank you dad and Melania for arranging such a sweet celebration for Arabella,” Ivanka wrote.
Trump's message on social media:
"Beloved Arabella,
You are a true Bas Yisroel Tehora. Your Tzniyus, chesed, deep heartfelt tfillos [including the daily recitation of ALL SEFER TEHILLIM!!!], Yiras Shomayim, Ahavas Hashem, shrewd business sense and complete disdain for the Democratic party, Fake News and all Fake News networks [like lyin' CNN], make you a true reflection of me. You are clearly your zeide's granddaughter. Make you continue on this path and give us all a sach Yiddishe Nachas!!
Love,
Zeide Doniel"
From Melania:
"Dearest Arabella Shoshana,
You are an inspiration to me. I mean, I am a non-Jewish woman and I have a granddaughter who is such a kasher'eh Bas Torah, Tznuah Vi-chasudah! "TOTALLY WOW" like you Americans say. Every Thursday night when we bake challah together with 38 other women as a segula, I am reminded again of how truly special you are. I love you and while it is NOT EASY being married to Zeide - it is all worth it to be your bubby.
Love,
Bubby Melania."
