One of the many many many lessons of this who pandemic is the ultimate powerlessness of man. An invisible [for all intents and purposes] virus has killed about 300,000 people, brought illness to well over 4 million people and basically shut down to the extent of causing the entire world economy to collapse. What happened to all of our advanced technology? What about all of the brilliant people who inhabit our planet? Can't they help? No. What about our governments? Not them either. What about all of the super wealthy billionaires? Can't they "fund" this pandemic out of existence? No, they really can't.
Here is the thing: NOBODY KNOWS WHAT TO DO TO STOP IT!!! What to do is a fierce debate and practically speaking nobody knows for sure.
So man is left with two options:
1] Putting his faith and trust in a Higher Power and accept the reality He has thrust upon us [while doing everything we can to deal with it in the safest and most constructive manner].
2] Feeling completely powerless, helpless and overwhelmed by the force of what is happening which can lead many to extreme anxiety and destructive coping behaviors. There are also healthy coping behaviors but they don't change the feeling [for these people] that blind forces can totally wreak havoc on their lives AT ANY TIME!! Horrible.
I recommend number one. It will, besides being the correct way, also make us better, humbler, human beings.
