וַיִּמְצָאֵ֣הוּ אִ֔ישׁ וְהִנֵּ֥ה תֹעֶ֖ה בַּשָּׂדֶ֑ה וַיִּשְׁאָלֵ֧הוּ הָאִ֛ישׁ לֵאמֹ֖ר מַה־תְּבַקֵּֽשׁ׃
A man found him and behold he was wandering in the fields. The man asked him saying, “What are you looking for?”
The word לאמר seems superfluous!? [אור החיים]
What is the meaning of וימצאהו - he found him. It should say ויראהו - He saw him??!! What is the "מציאה"?
וַיֹּ֕אמֶר אֶת־אַחַ֖י אָנֹכִ֣י מְבַקֵּ֑שׁ הַגִּֽידָה־נָּ֣א לִ֔י אֵיפֹ֖ה הֵ֥ם רֹעִֽים׃
He answered, “I am looking for my brothers. Could you tell me where they are pasturing?”
How did Yosef assume that this man knew where his brothers were?? [See Ohr Hachaim, Ibn Ezra, Mizrachi].
