A recent headline screamed “Haredim, not Arabs or Iran, are the biggest threat to Israel."
Wow!!! Iran is very clear that they want to obliterate us - להשמיד להרוג ולאבד את כל היהודים - Men, women and children!! Yet - Charedim are worse!!! What did they do, those threatening ominous black hatters and wig wearers?
The author of the screed writes that Israel is a “start-up nation that is a world leader in cybertechnology, agrotech and venture capital, punches above its weight on Nobel prizes and exported television formats, is a global leader on gay rights and decriminalizing cannabis and has developed Iron Dome to zap rockets out of the sky.” And the Charedim aren't part of that!! In other words - 1] Instead of being materialistic people who live for the here and now with the express purpose of making as much money and having as much pleasure as possible, the Charedim spend all day, every day living simply and trying to become better people who fulfill the world of G-d and the purpose of their creation as Jewish tradition understands it.
2] They are not in favor of men having sex with other men!!! TERRIBLE!!! So backward. Truly enlightened people understand that if a man lusts after another man - he should be encouraged and be treated like a man who is building an old fashioned family with a wife and children. No difference!!! He should be proud of his lusts. Israel shouldn't be the Holy Land but the Sodom [from the word "sodomy"] Land.
3] The Charedim don't export television formats [whatever that means]!!! EMBARRASSING!!! Television is such a elevated expression of true culture and light. TV shows are authentic conveyers of ideals and values and a shame on the Charedim that they aren't part of that.
4] They are not in favor of legalizing the smoking of weed!!! How do they show their faces in public???!!! Don't they understand how much society benefits when everybody is getting high [especially men with their male lovers]??!!!!!
Instead, what do these "backwards" people do? They perpetuate 5000 years of Jewish culture, history, law and devotion. They represent the reason that Israel is the Jewish State that excels in so many areas. Why did the Zionist founding fathers choose Israel as the Jewish Homeland? Because it says in the TORAH that Israel is the home of the Jews, given by Hashem. Who are the most authentic upholders of the Torah?? None other than the Charedim. We are all here - Charedi and secular alike - b/c of the ideals that they represent. They and their children don't waste hours and hours a day on social media like other Israelis [during the pandemic it was about 12 hours a day] and spend the time instead expanding their minds and spirits. They are involved in endless amounts of chesed that is unheard of anywhere else. If someone wants a monetary loan w/o interest - Charedim. A free ride to the hospital? Charedim. Medical advice and assistance? Charedim. Help with fertility issues? Charedim. Free loans of anything under the sun? Charedim. People who have so little money and yet give incredible amounts of tzdaka. A needy person will get much much more money collecting in a poor Charedi neighborhood than a wealthy secular one. They have large, thriving, vibrant families thus insuring the perpetuation of the Jewish people, unlike the average secular person who has one and a half children and two dogs.
Charedim are not the biggest threat to Israel's future. Charedim ARE Israel's future.
