SHAAAAAAAAALOMMM SWEEETEST FRIENDSSSSSSSS!!!!!
WOWOWOOWOWOWOW!!!! Tonight and tomorrow is the yahrtzeit of Rav Levi Yitzchk of Berditchev!!! There are so many AMAZINGGGGG stories about him!! He is most famous for always viewing Jews in a positive light.
When he saw a wagon driver fixing his wagon while davening with his tallis and tefillin, he exclaimed "Master of the Universe - look at Your people. Even when they fix their wagons they daven to you...."
It was the afternoon before Pesach, and Rav Levi Yitzchak was wandering through the streets of the Jewish quarter seeking out local smugglers. From one he quietly asked for the price of contraband tobacco, from another he inquired about the availability of smuggled embroideries. No matter the merchandise he sought, everything was available for the right price.
However, when he started asking his newfound acquaintances to supply him with some bread or whiskey, those very same businessmen who had previously proved so accommodating declined. “Rebbi,” said one, “are you trying to insult me? The Seder will be starting in just a few hours, and no Jew would have even a speck of chametz left anywhere.”
Not one merchant was able to come up with even a crumb of bread or a drop of alcohol no matter the price offered.
Thrilled with the results of his failed quest, the rabbi looked up to heaven and declared: “G‑d Almighty, look down with pride at Your people! The czar has border guards and tax commissioners dedicated to his commands. The police and the courts are devoted to tracking down and punishing smugglers and black marketeers, and yet anything one could possibly want is available. Contrast this with the faith and fidelity of Your Jews. It has been over 3,000 years since you commanded us to observe Pesach. No police, no guards, no courts and jails enforce this edict—and yet every Jew keeps Your laws to the utmost!
“Mi k’amcha Yisrael—Who is like Your nation, Israel?!”

What a SUPER Avoda for today and EVERY day!!! Looking at people in a positive light!! The printed and social media are soooooooooooooooooo filled with negativity!!! We need more positivity in our world!!!
My friend was feeling a bit too positive recently so he was tested and his fears were confirmed - he tested positive for Covid.
TOO FUNNYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Being positive is not only a holy Avoda but also greatly enhances your life.
So a vort on the parsha from the Holy Rebbe on his yahrzeit!
The Medrash says on the pasuk "Elokim called the light day" - these are the deeds of the Tzadikim. "And the darkness he called night" - these are the deeds of the evil people. Which does Hashem prefer? "Elokim saw the light and it was good" - The deeds of the Tzadikim are better.
Whatta Medrash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Medrash entertains the notion [ensuring that the notion will have a good time...] that MAYBE the deeds of the evil people are better in Hashem's eyes but then concludes that in fact the deeds of the Tzadikim are better. Like - what is the question???
Says R' Levi Yitzchak: There are two ways to bring people close to Torah. One is with love and warmth. These are the "deeds of Tzadikim". The other is by screaming them down and embarrassing them for their evil ways - called by the Medrash "deeds of the evil people". In this way one uses "evil deeds" for the sake of good. He uses anger and hatred and other negative traits to break people down and thereby bring them to Teshuva [if it works....]. So which is better? Maybe it is better to use negative middos for the sake of a spiritual ideal thus transforming even the bad into good??
The Medrash concludes - "Light is better!!!" The deeds of the Tzadikim are preferable. The ways of Torah are ways of pleasantness!!! דרכיה דרכי נועם!!! Bring people back with love and hugs - not with shame and threats!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May we merit to walk on the path of סנגורם של ישראל - the great defense attorney of the Jewish people, Rav Levi Yitzchak ben Sorah Sosha, and always find the light in people.
A Shabbos of BLISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
