It is common in social media to read Modern Orthodox people giving mussar to Charedim. Modern Orthodoxy - in their minds - in enlightened Orthodoxy. Charedim are - in their minds - primitive.
Once again - this is not to say that Charedim to have their problems. Of course they do! This is not to say that every Charedi hashkafa is necessarily THE Torah view. There are other valid Torah viewpoints that are not necessarily the Charedi viewpoint.
But it is safe to say that the MO community has a host of their own problems that they would do better focusing on fixing those than being busy criticizing the Charedim.
I am not going to go into all of them but will point out one. If a Charedi yeshiva bochur is found in the dorm using a smartphone - he is out. Toast. Gone. In the non-Charedi institutions the norm is to walk around with a smartphone which is not one pornographic magazines but millions. In one Hesder Yeshiva a roomful of boys were asked who had watched inappropriate things and there was not one exception. They all had. Of course. The hormones of a single 18-22 year old boy are out of control. So how do we give them this poison for their soul???
A WONDER!!
A bigger wonder is that the Yeshivos allow this!!!!!!!!!!!
There are many other problems.
A Charedi is not necessarily a better Jew than a MO Jew. I know plenty of non-Charedim who are much better human beings and Jews than some Charedim. And I know plenty of Charedim who are better human beings and Jews than MO people I know. A צבור is comprised of צ'דיקים ב'ינוניים and ר'שעים.
The Avodah is that each community should be busy fixing themselves and each individual should be busy fixing him or herself. There is too little time in life. Time is short and the task is immeasurable.
