וירש זרעך את שער אויביו, והתברכו בזרעך כל גויי הארץ. הופעת ישראל בעולם בראשונה בצדו הגלוי, בתור עם בין העמים, עם מוקף משונאים, החפצים לבלעו, והוא מתגבר ומנצח אותם, זאת היא תכונת הברכה הגלויה בישראל. אבל כל זה רק מעבר והכנה לעתיד הגדול, אשר אור ד' הגנוז יתגלה על ישראל, וכל העמים יכירו כי לא עם פשוט בין עמי העולם הוא ישראל, אלא הופעת דבר ד' באנושיות ובכל ההויה, אז בהתגלותה של ההערכה הפנימית של כנסת ישראל ההולכת ונמשכת מתוך האור הפנימי הצפון, שנגמר בשולו, וערכו המשוכלל, בנסיון המקודש הנשגב הזה. לעומת שני ערכים אלה, החצון והפנימי, יבאו בזמנים שונים, בתחלה התכן הגלוי, וירש זרעך את שער אויביו אבל באחרונה הצורה הפנימית תתגבר, ותצא ממחבואה לאור עולם לעיני כל גויים, ויתברר לכל שאי אפשר שימצאו אויבים לגוי, שהוא נושא בתוכו ברכה לכל עמי התבל, ואז יתברכו בזרעך כל גויי הארץ.
And your seed shall inherit the gate of your enemies, and in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed. [There is a contrast between vanquishing our enemies and being a blessing to the world]. The Jewish people's first appearance in the world, on its visible side, as a nation among nations, surrounded by enemies who wish to devour it, and yet it overcomes and defeats them – this is the characteristic of the visible blessing in Israel. But all this is only a transition and preparation for the great future, when the hidden light of God will be revealed upon Israel, and all nations will recognize that the Jewish people are not a simple people among the nations of the world, but rather the manifestation of God's word in humanity and in all existence.
