 ד', העלית מן שאול נפשי. הירידה של החיים, במיעוט הדמות החיונית, במחיקת כשרונותיה, היא משאירה רק את הנקודה של החפץ, הרצון לחיות, השאיפה להתקיים, בלא כל ספוק אמצעי איך למלא את הדרישה. נשאר רק המשאל לבד בלא אפשריות ההפקה של המשאל, רק הרשימה החיונית במקורה, השאול. ומתוך המעמק הזה, כשחסד ד' מופיע, וכשרון ואמצעי הפקת המשאלים של החיים מתחילים למלאות את התפקיד האידיאלי של החיים, זאת היא העליה מתוך הירידה של המעמק אשר להשאול. ד', העלית מן שאול נפשי.  

Hashem, you brought up my soul from grave/שאול. [Why the usage of the word "שאול"]? The decline of life, with the diminishment of vitality of one's G-dly image, with the erasure of its talents, leaving only the point of the desire, the desire to live, the aspiration to endure, without any means of satisfying the demand. Only the wish [השאול] remained, without the possibility of fulfilling the wish. [A person want to lives but that is it. He is detached from the higher purpose of life.]  And from this depth, when God's grace appears, and the ability and means for fulfilling life's desires begin to reflect life's ideal role, this is the ascent from the descent of the abyss of Sheol [the grave and also the lone desire to exist without any fulfillment of the ideals of life]. Hashem, you brought up my soul from the grave/שאול. [The soul is brought up from the terrible place where all it wants is to live - to a place where it wants to live for higher ideals. The former state is a שאול - a bare request and spiritual grave].
