The rule in Israel is that after arriving from a foreign country like the US one must go into בידוד [quarantine]. The other night I spoke to someone hosting someone from the US and asked where he was. He was at shul for Maariv. Then I went to shul for Maariv where I met an acquaintance who told me that he just returned from the US and should be in בידוד.
בידוד in shul.
Today at the supermarket a woman was talking to her friend and pointed to two of her kids and said that these two are in בידוד.
בידוד in the supermarket.
In the meantime - My daughter and her class were sent into בידוד b/c one of the children got it.
She is presently at home. Baruch Hashem.
I have a question and honestly don't know the answer for sure but the question MUST be asked.
What does Hashem think about all of these people who ignore the rules established by the government based on the scientists?? Maybe He thinks like so many of us that the scientists don't know what they are talking about and should be ignored. We know better. Maybe. But maybe not. I really don't know.
What bothers me A LOT is how few people are asking the question. Why is Hashem in our pots and pans so to speak but not in our daily life?
Or another example: Last night at 1am some boys were building a sukkah and drilling really really loudly. One o'clock in the morning. I told them to stop and was ignored. The drilling continued. Finally they stopped and one boy said "Kvod HaRav, you're right blah blah blah". I asked him that if I was right then why didn't they stop immediately?
Tonight past 11pm [and maybe later - I left] they were at it again.
It wasn't only their complete lack of consideration for hundreds of people who were sleeping that bothered me but that so many people walked by and nobody said anything in protest.
Oy fellow Jews - we ALL have a lot of Teshuva to do and והוא רחום יכפר עוון!!!!!!!!!!!!
