MAR-A-LAGO FLORIDA - US President Donald Trump on Tuesday heaped praise on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, declaring that Israel “might not exist" without his leadership, as the two leaders met at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida amid continuing war in Gaza and heightened regional tensions.
Pundits noted that in the past Trump has often attributed to himself G-dly powers but now he is descending into dangerous dualism attributing G-dly powers to the Israeli premier who is merely flesh, blood and ego.
Like Trump.
Of course Netanyahu ate it up as he has often told Israelis and the world that it is HE who is responsible for the security of Israel.
This writer is a skeptic of imagined human power where time and again it has been shown that we are weak, insignificant creatures who occasionally show some divinely granted might and power.
