This is [part of] an email I received from a close friend of mine, HaRav M. E. Shlita.
To summarize: He desperately needs a loan of 30,000 shekels.
His father died when he was a baby and his poor Moroccan mother raised him and his siblings alone [he explained to me that Moroccan widows don't remarry]. He has been poor every day of his 52 odd years on earth. Both he and his wife work hard but it isn't enough.
I am turning to the readers of the blog to help in this mitzva. If you can't - maybe you can pass this on to someone who can. Klal Yisrael has 30,000 extra shekels. We can do it!

אני מרגיש יכול ומסוגל לפנות אליך למרות הקושי הכרוך אלא שהקושי הגדול גורם. הנה כידוע למר עדין הקב"ה חפץ להשית עלי ניסיון הפרנסה ואני מאוד לחוץ אלא שלאחרונה כמה וכמה חובות כולל חוב לארנונה שמעכב אותי מהליך רישום הדירה על שמי המסתכם בכ30000ש"ח שמתוכם 20000 אחזיר בפחות מ40 יום וישאר 10000 שאפרעם אי"ה בהמשך לא נראה בקושי גדול. וע"ז באתי לשטוח את בקשתי שחלק של הסכום נורא דחוף ברמות גדולות שאני חושש להפסיד שם טוב שעולה על כולן ולכן תעה"ב שאתה תמיד עומד לצידי.
