The secular Zionist dream was that we would have our own State and FINALLY be saved from oppression, torture and death at the hand of the Gentiles.
Well, since the birth of the State, close to 24,000 soldiers have been killed and over 4,000 people in terrorist attacks. Every person is equal to the whole world so that is a lot of worlds - and we are a small country so 28 thousand or so is a LARGE number!!!
The Zionists thought they could outsmart Hashem. Hashem said "אם בחקתי תלכו ואת מצותי תשמורו" - if we learn and keep Torah properly then we are guaranteed "ונתתי שלום בארץ". We will have peace in EY. If we don't - then we won't. It is that simple. The Zionists said [and many still say] that we can have peace in the Land without Torah. All we need is a strong military and we are good to go.
So what is the solution to creating peace in ארץ ישראל?? Decimating Azza is not the answer b/c we still have to deal with the billions who would be THRILLED if we ceased to exist, and many would be happy to act towards that end. So what is the answer???
