On the 8th of Teves, 3 days of darkness descended on the world when the Torah was translated into Greek b/c the Torah cannot be adequately translated. [Maseches Sofrim]
Reading the translated text is like kissing a loved one through a blanket. There is point of contact but it is really not the same...
The most important book in world history by far is the Tanach. And we Torah observant Jews are the only people alive who actually read it properly in the original.
Not only does the world misunderstand the text because they miss so much in translation but they also doesn't have the rich number of commentaries we have. We take it for granted b/c we are used to it but we shouldn't. We read the pasuk and right away look down to see Rashi and the other Meforshim. All a goy has is the actual text and ... good luck. Like there is almost not a pasuk in the entire Tanach that requires no commentary. We are EXCEEEEEDINGLY fortunate.
