RAMAT BEIT SHEMESH ISRAEL - With Chanukah just days behind us, local housewife and balabuste Devorah Feigenstein, has told her family that they have entered that sancrosanct time zone called "Pesach cleaning".
Yes, with Pesach just months away Devorah is feeling the pressure. So she has started thoroughly cleaning the house including scrubbing the windows, toilets, ceilings etc. From now on, until after Pesach, no Chametz is allowed ANYWHERE in the house except for the dining room or the kitchen.
Any child found in other areas of the house with chometz will be penalized by having to take upon themselves extra cleaning chores.
Not fun.
Her husband Donny has assured her that they are going away for Pesach so she can relax. We will see where this goes....
We wish Devorah and all anxious - albeit pure, holy and well meaning - Jewish women, lots of Menuchas Hanefesh and Simcha in Avoda Hashem.
Hashem gave us the holidays for pleasure and joy - not for anxiety and nervousness.
