There are many groups and subgroups in the Charedi world but there are common denominators to all of them i.e. a desire to be separate from the secular world, full observance of Halacha, traditional beliefs and behavior etc.
I have posted numerous times about liguistic obfuscation. People use words that mask the truth and are often the oppsoite of the truth.
One classic example is "women's reproductive health" which means murdering the babies inside of women.
"Health". Hmmmmm.
Or "Free Palestine" and "From the river to the sea". Euphemisms for "kill the Jews".
Here is another one: "Charedi feminist". If one is Charedi then by definition one is not a feminist. It is against the Charedi belief system. It is like saying a "progressive conservative". On that note - "Orthodox female rabbi". Orthodox means traditional. Female rabbis are not.
Or the much advertised "Charedi Hesder Yeshiva". Now, I am not saying that there is anything wrong with Hesder Yeshivos. I myself learned in one for about 13 years. I have GREAT memories. But if it is Hesder i.e. built in army service, then it is not Charedi. Charedim follow the Gedolei Yisrael who do and did not subscribe to the idea of Hesder, to say the least.
Or "Yeshiva Charedit Tichonit" - i.e. Charedi high school with secular studies. When Rav Yehoshua Yogel wanted to start a high school with secular studies in order to save the youth from completely dropping their observance, the Chazon Ish gave him the green light provided he doesn't call it a "Yeshiva" b/c Yeshivos [according to the Chazon Ish] have only Torah. [This was usually true in Eastern Europe, with a few exceptions like Kelm and Rav Reines' Torah Vodaas]. So he called it a מדרשייה. "Medrashiyat Noam". [Rav Yogel never grew a beard all the years he headed the institution but grew one after he retired b/c (either he explained or people speculated - I don't remember) he didn't want to be seen as a Rosh Yeshiva because the מדרשייה was not a Yeshiva]. In Eretz Yisrael, Charedi means only learning Torah from high school age and on.
There are Charedi podcasts, one of which even has the word Charedi in its name, which are also anything but Charedi.
There is a website which calls itself Charedi and there are many ideological articles on this site, almost NONE of which reflect the Charedi viewpoint. Many are quite subsersive to the Charedi belief system. [A recent one was written by a radically anti-Chareidi friend of mine]. Which is precisely why it is so insiduous. It is like - להבדיל - "Messianic congregations" which is a euphemism for Christian groups where facades of talleisim and yarmulkes are used to mislead. Gneivas Da'as big time.
