Gentiles have souls and Jews have souls. But there is are fundamental differences. Here is one: The longing and pining of the Gentile soul can be satisfied with any form of spirituality. He can pray, give charity, help the unfortunate, meditate etc. etc. and his soul can thus be satisfied. The Jewish soul however will never find full satisfaction unless it connects to G-d through Torah. If it goes on a different path and feels that it is satisfied it is merely illusory. [Such as someone who, for example intermarries, and claims to be truly happy. The body - maybe. The soul - certainly not].
