The sin of the Dor Haflaga: In the future we will no longer have free choice [rather it will cost us money] and will do only good. ומלתם את ערלת לבבכם. But there is always the "dark side", the זה לעומת זה that potentially we can lose our free choice and automatically do only evil.
THAT is what they wanted. שפה אחת ודברים אחדים. All of mankind uniting to choose evil and get to a place where it becomes their most basic and instinctual nature. Spreading them around the earth prevented this nefarious plan from being carried out. 😀👍.
Shiras Ha-yom: The sea is a place where there is no free choice b/c we lose our basic definition as living human being [one can't last very long underwater]. It was there that we all [the nation about whom it says אתם קרויים אדם] said TOGETHER ה' ימלוך לעולם ועד paving the way for ימות המשיח when we will have no בחירה and will automatically live the ה' ימלוך לעולם ועד.
