וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֔ים נַֽעֲשֶׂ֥ה אָדָ֛ם בְּצַלְמֵ֖נוּ כִּדְמוּתֵ֑נוּ וְיִרְדּוּ֩ בִדְגַ֨ת הַיָּ֜ם וּבְע֣וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֗יִם וּבַבְּהֵמָה֙ וּבְכׇל־הָאָ֔רֶץ וּבְכׇל־הָרֶ֖מֶשׂ הָֽרֹמֵ֥שׂ עַל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃
וַיִּבְרָ֨א אֱלֹהִ֤ים ׀ אֶת־הָֽאָדָם֙ בְּצַלְמ֔וֹ בְּצֶ֥לֶם אֱלֹהִ֖ים בָּרָ֣א אֹת֑וֹ זָכָ֥ר וּנְקֵבָ֖ה בָּרָ֥א אֹתָֽם׃
What is our צלם א-להים? "Image of G-d"? Don't we say that Hashem has no body or image? What is the difference between צלם and דמות? What is the meaning of the connection the pasuk makes between being בצלם א-להים and ruling over the animal kingdom? Why in the second pasuk does it only say that man is בצלם א-להים. What happened to the דמות of the previous pasuk? [Not to mention that the second pasuk repeats itself, telling us twice that man is created בצלם.] The Moreh Nevuchim addresses this topic. How come almost nobody learns the Moreh anymore? [We have posted numerous shiurim on the sefer for those interested...] Millions more go to twitter, רח"ל. Rashi says that בצלמנו is בדפוסנו. I have been learning [or at least trying to...] for 3 and a half decades and I can't even understand this simple one word Rashi. Can anyone give me pshat?
