People renovate their homes - all the time. But when it comes to Ruchniyus, all too often, people are complacent and remain the same [more or less] for most of their lives. Would a person want to drive a car that was built in 1983? So why is he on the same spiritual level as he was in 1983 and OK with it?? So the message is - "constant growth and reassessment", even for a person who already "found himself". Everything he sees and learns must be assimilated into his unique personality.
החושב העומד על עמדתו העצמית, מחויב הוא לשכלל את עולמו הפנימי בכל ענפיו ופרטיו. והעבודה הזאת אין לה קצבה, וכל ימיו הוא קרוא להוסיף לקח ושכלול של חיים מדעיים ומוסריים. כל הדברים הכלליים, שהם משוטטים בעולם הדעות והרגשות, מוכרחים לקבל אצלו צורה פרטית מחוטבת בפני עצמה, ועם זה מתמזגת היא יפה עם הצורות הרוחניות והמעשיות של הכלל כולו.
