Rabbi William Herskowitz was a talmid of Rav Soloveitchik and had a warm personal relationship with him for many years. Rabbi Herskowitz turned to the Rav and said, “Rebbe, I have a great picture of you from last Tuesday night’s shiur.”
Without missing a beat, Rav Soloveitchik responded, “It’s okay Billy, I don’t need the picture. I have the original.”
