Losing Is Also Good

Rabbi Shear Yashuv Cohen ran unsuccessfully to be Chief Rabbi of the State Of Israel. One day, he was walking in Shaarei Chesed and he ran into the famous philanthropist R' Eliyahu Reichman. R' Reichman told him that he shouldn't feel too badly because Rav Charlap, the Rov of Shaarei Chesed also lost in his bid to be Chief Rabbi. He added that he acquired a very valuable document: A telegram from the Chazon Ish sent to Rav Charlap where he writes "mazel tov mazel tov, that you weren't chosen".

Moral of the story - we think we know what is best for us. We don't. So win graciously and lose graciously and let things be without fighting too hard. Let go and let G-d.
