While critics are quick to cry "religious fanaticism," let’s be clear: the secular world is equally terrified of the AI trajectory. This isn't about being "anti-tech"; it’s about spiritual survival.
Deconstructing the "Expertise" of Frieda Vizel
The article leans on Frieda Vizel, framing her as a definitive "expert" on Hasidic life. Let’s call it what it by it's proper name: a calculated misnomer.
Vizel isn't an objective scholar [or a scholar at all]; she is someone who walked away from the Chassidic world [and her husband, taking their child with her to פתחי גיהנום], trading the sanctity of the Torah for a lifestyle the Torah explicitly characterizes as the antithesis of life itself. To label her an authority on the community she abandoned is like asking a defector to explain the heart of the country they fled. Her "expertise" is built on the ruins of a life she discarded—a "deathstyle" masked as a tour guide’s curiosity.
The Misrepresentation of "Information"
Vizel claims that Chasidim see information about religion and sexuality as a "corrupting force." This is a gross oversimplification and a deliberate pivot from the truth.
The Reality: Torah Jews are not afraid of "information." We are the People of the Book [OK - we didn't give ourselves that moniker but it stuck and there is a reason]; our entire lives are dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge.
The Distinction: We distinguish between education and pollution.
The Danger: We aren't hiding from faith or biology; we are shielding our souls from heresy and the normalization of deviant practices. To Vizel, it’s all just "data." To a Jew with a soul, it’s a matter of purity versus corruption.
A Troubling Alliance
Perhaps most shocking was seeing a well-known educator from the Modern Orthodox world—someone who dons the full Chassidic levush (garb)—appearing on Vizel’s platform.
It is a jarring sight: a man who looks like "the real thing" lending his credibility to a show hosted by someone so alienated from our values. Using the garments of Chassidus to broadcast questionable views on such a platform isn't just confusing; it’s a betrayal of the very image he projects.
