The allegations that ---- ---- did [something terrible] is a story of abuse of power and of a system that enables it by giving power to one gender over another while keeping the latter ignorent and silenced.
For those of us who have been screaming from the rooftops about abuse, control, obsession with women's tznius, and the enabling of their erasure, the allegations are not shocking.
But one man cannot abuse and cover it up and this is not the story of only one man. It's a story of a community without protocols and fail-safes for men in power.
A system that does not have women in spiritual roles, that actively deters women’s learning of halacha, that tells it’s community to “ask a rabbi” whenever they have questions in life, that defines a woman's goodness in inches of fabric is one rife for abuse.

The allegations against --- ---- are horrific. If true, they represent a profound betrayal of trust, a grave sin, and a chilul Hashem. No one who values Torah can defend or minimize abuse. Those who have suffered deserve justice, support, and protection—not silence or excuses.
But let's be clear: this is not evidence that the entire Torah system is "systemically abusive." The claim that abuse thrives because there are no women rabbis because women don't learn Halacha, because people consult rabbis for life guidance, or because tznius is emphasized is not only oversimplified—it's misleading and theologically dangerous.
First complaint - no women rabbis!! Consider the logic: If the absence of female rabbis is the key enabler of abuse, why do we see harassment, assault, and cover-ups in abundance in fully egalitarian institutions—corporations, universities, Hollywood, progressive religious denominations, and secular nonprofits? The #MeToo movement exposed abuse across every sector where power exists, regardless of gender parity in leadership. Abuse stems from human flaws—lust, narcissism, unchecked authority—not from the lack of women bearing the title "rabbi."
Actively deter women from learning Halacha? So odd. There is literally not one girls school in the world that doesn't teach Halacha.
And then, the horror of horrors: Spiritual Guidance. Can you imagine? A Jew going to a Rabbi for advice on their life? The audacity. In a modern, enlightened world, we should be doing the logical thing: asking our car mechanics for marriage advice and consulting computer progammers on the deeper meaning of the soul.
But wait, here’s the Grand Finale: We define goodness in 'inches of fabric.' Apparently, the real villain isn't the predator; it’s the concept of Tznius. Forget the fact that the rest of the world treats hypersexualizes women; clearly, the real toxic behavior is Halacha asking us to look at a woman’s character instead of her collarbone.
This isn't just a 'take'—it’s a performance art piece in how to blame G-d for human filth. This rhetoric is more than just toxic—it’s a theological arsonist trying to burn down the Mesorah while claiming they’re just trying to 'improve the ventilation'".

'מרתיעה נשים באופן פעיל מלימוד הלכה'? כמה מוזר. אין ממש בית ספר אחד לבנות בעולם שלא מלמד הלכה.
ואז, זוועת הזוועות: הדרכה רוחנית. אתם יכולים לדמיין? יהודי שהולך לרב כדי לקבל עצה על חייו? איזו עזות מצח. בעולם מודרני ונאור, עלינו לעשות את הדבר ההגיוני: לבקש מהמוסכניק שלנו עצות לנישואין ולהתייעץ עם תכנת מחשבים על המשמעות העמוקה של הנשמה.
אבל חכו, הנה הגראנד-פינאלה: אנחנו מגדירים 'טוב לב' ב'אינצ'ים של בד'. ככל הנראה, הנבל האמיתי הוא לא הטורף, אלא המושג של צניעות. נשכח לרגע את העובדה ששאר העולם מחפיץ נשים באופן מיני קיצוני; ברור שההתנהגות הרעילה באמת היא ההלכה שמבקשת מאיתנו להסתכל על האופי של האישה במקום על עצם הבריח שלה.
זו לא סתם 'דעה' – זהו מיצג אמנותי ב'איך להאשים את ה' בטינופת אנושית'. הרטוריקה הזו היא יותר מסתם רעילה – היא פירומניה תיאולוגית של מי שמנסה לשרוף את המסורה תוך טענה שהוא רק מנסה 'לשפר את האוורור'."
