Compartmentalized Religion

Some people are very excited that Israel has its first kippah wearing Prime Minister. WOW!!

Well - the question is not what clothing he wears but whether his policies reflect his clothing. Bennet would be the first to admit that his policies are not dictated by Torah and Halacha.

Biden is a Catholic. Do his policies reflect his beliefs? Of course not. If and when he goes to Mass he is a Catholic for those minutes. Then he leaves his belief system at the door and lives and guides the country according to true and tried pagan principles. One example is homosexuality. Biden is a huuuuge advocate for homosexuality. What does the Catholic church say abt. this? The Catechism of the Catholic Church, a text which contains dogmas and teachings of the Church, names “homosexual acts” as “intrinsically immoral and contrary to the natural law,” and names “homosexual tendencies” as “objectively disordered.” Would Biden say that? He holds just the opposite. You are a HERO filled w/ COURAGE if you are homosexual or identify as a gender that you are not [in Biden's wacky-world].

There has never been a US President who has been an atheist but many of their policies have by no means reflected their purported beliefs.

Netanyahu has often said "B'ezrat Hashem". Does he live his life bound by the dictates of Hashem? Ask him. For Netanyahu and hundreds of millions like him, Hashem exists but not when His will clashes with their own. He is convenient when I need some meaning in my life or when someone dies and I want to believe that life doesn't end on earth, but He can't get in the way when I want to live my life as I see fit.

There are many Orthodox Jews like this as well. They daven 3 times a day, keep kosher etc. etc. but when there is a clash between one's ego, narcissism, financial status, bad middos etc. etc. then all of the "belief" falls away.

We have to be wary of this. The maxim שויתי השם לנגדי תמיד  - I Place Hashem before me always, must be our guiding principal.
