There is a woman I heard about who is described as a "Charedi Comedian".
Professional comedy is really classic "מושב לצים" which is forbidden by a pasuk in tehillim [פרק א] and cited in the gemara [Avoda Zara 18b] הלכה למעשה.
Humor is like spices. It is good when mixed into more meaningful content. But just like you wouldn't have a whole meal of spices, one should also not have a complete *meal* of humor.
So "Jewish comedian" - yes. But not a halachically observant one [well, maybe observant of other halachos but if one's profession is doing something אסור that is quite sketchy].

Full disclosure: I myself often have thought of doing professional stand up comedy and the only thing stopping me other than the איסור is ... that I am not that funny:-)!!!
